Rayver excited to be with Sarah in upcoming flick

Actor Rayver Cruz will have another chance to be closer with Sarah Geronimo as the two are set to do another film together.

“Sa ngayon may gagawin pagbalik ni Sarah, kami ni Vhong (Navarro) and Toni (Gonzaga),” Cruz disclosed during his contract signing with ABS-CBN’s movie outfit Star Cinema.

Cruz said he believes that his first movie with Star Cinema, “You Changed My Life,” which also starred Geronimo, was a preparation for his upcoming project with the “Pop Star Princess.”

Sarah gets hefty bonus

BOSS VIC DEL ROSARIO OF Viva Films refutes allegations that their major star Sarah Geronimo got only 500K as talent fee for her two blockbuster movies, “A Very Special Love” and “You Changed My Life,” both joint productions of Star Cinema and Viva.

A production insider says Boss Vic added enough moolah to make Sarah’s fee equal to her co-star John Lloyd Cruz. The amount remains undisclosed. He also gave Sarah a hefty bonus.

‘You Changed My Life’ seen to earn P18M on 1st day

Star Cinema’s “You Changed My Life” is projected to earn at least P10 million on its first day of screening.

Although the official figures are yet to be released, Star Cinema Booking & Distribution, which handles the local and international distribution of films, was optimistic that the movie would earn P18 million for its February 25 screening alone.

SM names box office ‘king, queen’

MANILA, Philippines—John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo emerged as the highest-grossing movie team up in 2008 for the romantic comedy, “A Very Special Love,” which turned out as the local box-office topnotcher in SM Cinemas around the country.

Cruz and Geronimo will be named SM Cinema Box Office King and Queen, the first time the theater entertainment group of the mall and retail conglomerate will present such recognition to show biz personalities in ceremonies on February 18 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Star Cinema, the film producer, will also be awarded SM Cinema Top Grossing Film Company of the Year. This is in recognition of the continued box success of all its films in 2008, apart from “A Very Special Love,” which it co-produced with Viva Films.
