As Marian Rivera officially fills in the shoes of Darna in August 2009, the Darna before her, Angel Locsin is now besieged with queries concerning the new title holder.

“I’m happy for her,” Angel told Manila Bulletin Online and other members of the press at the thanksgiving party that ABS-CBN feted for the “Only You” cast and crew.

The actress is nothing but grateful that she once was Darna.

“Thankful ako na na-recognize ako bilang isang Darna. So, I’m happy for her (Marian) at saka maggu-goodluck ako sa kanya at sa mga susunod pang magda-Darna.”

Unexpected twists and turns will be revealed this week as Carlo J. Caparas’ “Ang Babaeng Hinugot Sa Aking Tadyang” enters its finale week on GMA-7.

Last week, Heleen successfully kidnaps Proserfina and tricks everyone by posing as Homer’s bride at the wedding. Amidst the chaos, Homer looses no time as clues on Proserfina’s whereabouts surfaces. He sees an unconscious Proserfina and saves her from suffocation because Heleen had trapped her inside a small concrete structure. The couple escapes but Heleen attacks them again by setting them on fire. But Heleen misses her target and burns instead! MANILA, Philippines—“All the unpleasant things that happened in 2008 made me realize that I’m only human. This year, I have a chance to change and make things right again,” said controversial actor Dingdong Dantes.

The actor said he is aware of the negative public reaction to the way he handled his breakup with singer-actress Karylle, his girlfriend of three years. “Shake, Rattle, and Roll” has truly become a legacy in Pinoy pop horror. On its tenth installment since its birth in 1984, this horror trilogy has become an annual entry for the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

And on the not so good side, though there are minor attempts to elevate its production value and make additional artistic merits to the horror flick, the compromises made for its mainstream needs are still the major force moving around the picture – and the film keeps up with these regardless of the negative effects on the film’s aesthetic quality.

MANILA — IZA Calzado feels sad about what’s happening to Marian Rivera and Karylle.

“They’re both my friends so ayoko ring magsalita at all about them,” she says. “Kasama ko si Marian sa ‘Desperadas 1 and 2′ at naawa ako talaga nang makita ko siyang umiiyak. Si Karylle naman, naging good friend ko in ‘Encantadia’ kaya close kami. I even volunteered nga to give her moral support sa ‘ASAP’ when she was launched last Sunday, kaya lang hindi ako pinayagan ng GMA-7 and I understand naman their decision. MANILA, Philippines—With tears flowing, a hurting Marian Rivera made one point clear.

“Hindi po ako buntis,” she said, reacting to the news reports that she was infanticipating, a claim that she said was ridiculous.

“Hindi naman ako tanga na para magkamaling magpabuntis,” Marian stressed in response to a question about the rumor in Monday’s press conference for “Desperadas 2,” a Metro Manila Film Festival entry she stars in, at the Imperial Suites in Quezon City. “Marami pa akong gustong mangyari sa career ko.”

She emphasized that if ever she would become pregnant, she would not hide it. “Ako mismo ang magsasabi sa inyo,” she said.

Reports circulated the past days about Marian’s pregnancy, with screen partner Dingdong Dantes as the expectant father.

Hindi binigo nina Marian Rivera at Dingdong Dantes ang fans nila na nanood ng kanilang concert sa Los Angeles. Kahit nakabenda ang paa dahil sa pilay, gumiling pa rin ang aktres na sinuklian naman ng mga manonood ng mainit na palakpakan.

Noong una ay inakala ng fans na hindi na talaga nila makikitang magsasayaw si Marian lalo nang makita nila na ibang babae ang partner ni Dingdong sa unang dance number ng aktor, ayon sa Chika Minute portion ng GMA news 24 Oras nitong Huwebes.

Pero sa ikalawang dance number ni Dingdong, biglang pumasok si Marian na naka-wheel chair at laking gulat ng mga tao nang tumayo siya at nagsayaw.

“Alam kong mahirap sumayaw para sa akin pero kung makikita mo ngayon ang mga tao rito sobrang nag-effort sila para makita lang tayo,” pahayag ni Marian.

Napilayan ang isang paa ni Marian habang kinukunan ang eksena sa isa niyang pelikula. Pero sa kabila ng kanyang kalagayan, pinilit pa rin niyang magtungo sa US para hindi mabigo ang kanilang fans ni Dingdong at iba pang Kapuso stars….
