Porcelain Polo Shirts from Lacoste by Li Xiaofeng

Lacoste will launch it’s limited Porcelain Polo Shirts later this month. This latest collaboration between the brand and contemporary artists designed by the infamous Chinese artist Li Xiaofeng will embark Lacoste’s collection for it’s 2010 Holiday Collector’s Series. Li is a graduate of the Central Academy of Art and a Chinese porcelain aficionado for years, before this collaboration Li had already started incorporating authentic porcelain shards dating from the 14th to the 19th centuries into his work. Li’s contribution consists of 317 porcelain shards and one cotton polo shirt bearing a print of the artists porcelain-shard digital collage. Rene Lacoste, the company’s founder, challenged Li to create 2 different polo shirts. For both, he had to adapt his work methods slightly, choosing blue and white shards with lotus and children designs from the Kangxi Period of the Qing Dynasty. The designs have deeper meaning with it, making it more special. The printed Porcelain Polo is limited to 20,000 pieces for both men and women, and comes packaged in a silk pouch stamped with the red seal Li Xiaofeng Lacoste logo.

Products that can make skin rosy pink

WHEN testing a foundation shade on my skin, I choose the pale yellow shades. As light-skinned as I may be, that (pale yellow) has always been my undertone.

The last time though, I was surprised when the sales reps of Lancôme, Shiseido, MAC and Shu Uemura commented that the swatches on my jawline did not blend in. They then tested pink undertones on my skin, which were a better match. It could be called a fluke if it were just one or two brands, but four?

I have come to the conclusion that L’Oreal’s Transparent Rosy Whitening Radiance Boosting Double Essence (P845) and Transparent Rosy Whitening Night Cream (P525) do work as I have been using them for about eight weeks on the face and neck. My exposed arms are still yellow-toned by the way.

Eating out without guilt

A lot of people who watch their weight swear by food delivery service. What that means is that you receive a day’s supply of five meals — breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner. They come in microwavable containers, which makes it very convenient to bring to the office. The idea is to eat almost every three hours, which takes care of about 12 to 15 of your active hours.

A lot of Hollywood celebrities either have food delivered regularly or have their own chefs whipping up a full day’s meal plan. Those who have tried it locally know that normally, there is a minimum package of 14 days so you have to pay the full package price before the daily deliveries begin.

It’s all about fashion at SM’s Augustyle

MANILA, Philippines – With the rains in full effect that day, it was easy to feel the blues. Good thing SM brought a much-needed dose of bright fashion ideas through its Augustyle Fashion Forum. Hosted by VJ Joey Mead, the forum featured beauty and fashion experts sharing the latest trends.

The Augustyle Fashion Forum also held a mini fashion show that focused on SM’s latest collections. Everyone who attended the event went away armed with helpful tips on sprucing up their wardrobe.

For example, girls’ teens wear need not be drab black-and-white ensembles. By adding a hint of pink or colored details, the outfit becomes unique and more personal.

For those who love their LBDs, why not add frills and textured details for an even more eye-catching affair? Even work wear can spell powerful and fabulous by adding a twist or playing with shapes that flatter the body.

Once more with peeling

Dear Ms. Tingting,

I’ve heard about the phenomenon of facial peeling. Is there any at-home peel that is just as effective and you can just do in the privacy of your own bathroom? Would you recommend the Maxi Peel and Extraderm brands that are available in any drugstore?

Ana Cachin

Peeling is today’s most commonly used technique by dermatologists to clear away the damaged surface layer of skin.

Maxi Peel and Extraderm are lower in strength, but they do have some benefits. Chemical peel by your dermatologist with AHA and BHA is higher in strength than that you can find in an over-the-counter product or in spas. I strongly recommend you ask your dermatologist about this. IPLs can be done at home by doctors and beauticians who have their small machines and can do it in your own home.
