Pinoy rock icon dies at 43

Pinoy funk and rock icon Karl Roy (43) passed away 1:00 am Tuesday morning, due to cardiac arrest.

Karl was the vocalist of three well-known Pinoy rock bands, P.O.T., Kapatid, and Advent Call.

“I will always remember Karl when Advent Call was the hardest-working band back in the day, sometimes playing seven fiery sets a night. Rest in peace, Karl,” said Raimund Marasigan, former Eraserheads drummer and currently Sandwich frontman

Kathryn, karl’s sister announced his death on Facebook.

According to Kathryn’s post, “It is with deepest sadness that I share the news of Karl’s passing. He was called Home today at 1:01 a.m. Manila time (Tuesday, March 13th), surrounded by those who loved him most – mommy, Keith, Kevin, Krys, his daughter Arianna, and our cousin Jack (Roy-Duavit),”

“Please continue to pray for Karl. He brought so much joy to others but, unfortunately, did not have enough of it in this life. He’s in a better place now, with Lolo Pepe, Lola Conching and Daddy.” She added
