Reporter Shot in Pasig

Around 10: pm Sunday night a reporter from The Daily Tribune Fernan Jose Angeles was beaten and then shot along Evangelista Street in Barangay Pinagbuhatan Pasig City. Angels sustained six gunshot wounds.

Angeles’ wife Gemma said her husband went out of their house at Cattleya compound in Evangelista St. in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig at about 10:15 p.m. on Sunday to buy prepaid cellphone load.

Minutes later, Gemma said she heard gunshots and an hour later a village watchman arrived at their residence and informed her that her husband had been shot.

Angeles’ wife suspected that a drug syndicate was behind the crime.   According to Gemma before her husband entered the operating room was able to identify his assailant.

“Kinonfirm sa akin ng asawa ko, kasi he was conscious the whole night, until ipasok siya sa operating room. Kita niya kung sino yung sinasabi niyang tao, kilala niya yung tao na yun eh,” she said

Gemma said she is being carefull in giving details and coordinating with some members of the Pasig Police, whom she think might be connected with the mastermind of the shooting.

Angeles is now at the intensive care unit in Pasig City General Hospital, his wife wants to call the attention to those who are willing to donate blood for her husband, who has a B+ bloodtype.

“Kung meron man sa inyong magandang loob na magiging donor ng asawa ko, please lang po. He doesn’t deserve this,” Gemma said, crying.
