Comedian Vice Ganda has broken box office records with her second movie, Praybeyt Benjamin. According to ABS-CBN’s Star Cinema, the movie grossed nearly P320 million or approximate $7.39 million in ticket sales in just 20 days.
The comedy movie took the top spot from the 2011 sexy drama film, “No Other Woman” which starred Anne Curtis, Cristine Reyes, and Derek Ramsay. The movies grossed an approximate P276 million in box office.
“Ang saya. Thank you Lord, P300 million na siya as of last night. Hindi ko alam may ibang magic ang Diyos,” Vice Ganda said. The comedian also said that he’s happy with the support he got from the fans and hopes the movie will still continue to attract movie goers in the country.
Praybeyt Benjamin is a 2011 Filipino comedy film produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films. The movie takes place during a time of civil war in the Philippines wherein Benjamin Santos (Vice Ganda) needs to prove that he is worthy of the last name of his military family especially to his grandfather, Benjamin Santos VI (Eddie Garcia).
The film also stars Jimmy Santos, Derek Ramsay, Nikki Valdez, Kean Cipriano, DJ Durano, Vandolph Quizon, Carlos Agassi, Dennis Padilla and directed by Wenn V. Deramas.
