Actress Kim Chiu has a new teleserye entitled “My Binondo Girl.” According to the actress, she sacrificed a lot for her new series.
According to Kim Chiu, it was not easy to play the role of Jade, a young lady who will pretend to be a young man to feel the love of her Chinese father. Aside from lowering the tone of her voice, she also needs to endure the pain of binding her breasts.
Regardless of the hardship, Chiu said that the production team of the show was always ready to help her.
Chiu also shared said that for the series, she had to watch shows where girls pretended to be boys like “Hana Kimi” and “Boys Don’t Cry.”
“Ang dami kong pinanood na ganoong movie yung babae na nagpanggap na lalaki, ang dami kong napanood at doon madami akong natutunan at nakuhang tip para gampanan yung role,” she said.
Chiu hopes that viewers would see her effort for the show and would watch it from beginning till end.
“Well sana, tina-try ko naman ang full effort ko para mapaganda ang show na ito. Hanggang kaya ko gagawin ko,” she said.
Meamwhile, Chiu was also game in addressing question if she would be willing to do a kissing scene with a girl.
Asked which girl she prefers to kiss, she said: “Ayaw ko ng maging choosy. Kahit sino na lang.”
“My Binondo Girl” directed by Malu Sevilla will premiere on August 22 (Monday).
