Earlier today, the tropical storm Chedeng (with international name Songda) entered the Philippine area of responsibility and is said to be on Eastern Samar direction. PAGASA stated the exact location of the storm, it was located 800 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar and moving west northwest at 13kph as of 4:00am.
Governor Joey Salceda (Albay Governor) said that they already preparing for evacuation as the weather got worse. They expected Chedeng to be worse than the previous storm that killed 35 people in Camarines Sur and damaged a billion and a half pesos of crops and infrastructure.
Chedeng will bring rains and strong winds in Bicol and also in Metro Manila in the preceding days. Due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), northern parts of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience scattered rains and thunderstorms.
