Showtime: from noontime show to CD album

♫ ♫ ”This is your show, this is your time, magpasikat na, it’s Showtime!” ♫ ♫

I always singing the theme song of ABS-CBN’s hit noontime talent show Showtime. It’s not only I enjoyed watching the show not only because of Vice Ganda’s punchlines but also it showcases the world-class and amazing talents from amateur Pinoy group contestants. Running on its second consecutive season, these contestants want to perform live on Showtime stage and make their parents and friends proud that they made it at least on the eliminations.

Star Records has an early Christmas treat to all madlang pipol (a term used in the show meaning audience). Showtime’s resident DJ, DJ MOD produced the album called ”Showtime The Album”. It includes five catchy and danceable tracks sung by the whole Showtime cast:

  1. “Showtime Theme Song” – Showtime Cast
  2. Magpasikat” – Teddy Corpuz
  3. Madlang Pipol” – Vhong Navarro
  4. Hari Ng Dancefloor” – Vhong Navarro
  5. “We’ll Get There” – Anne Curtis

Every purchase of Showtime The Album entitles the buyer two Showtime day passes to have a chance to watch Showtime live for free. To avail the schedule of the consumer’s studio visit, he/she must call the Star Recording, Inc. Marketing Department at 415-2272 local 3411. He/she must present his/her two valid IDs with photo, Showtime CD, and the official receipt of the purchased CD as proofs during the scheduled visit.

I will definitely buy the album because I want to watch Showtime live and laugh out as Vice Ganda entertains his loving fans by giving remarkable punchlines. I got envy when I saw my college batchmates on TV who also watched the show live during summer vacation. I wish Showtime continues success and fun, and maybe madlang pipol will demand for its third season. Hope this show will run for 5 years or more, inspiring Filipino people with good values, confidence and talents to be seen around the world.
