Kidnap raps readied vs Agusan hostage takers

CAMP RAFAEL RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City , Philippines  – Fifteen Manobo tribesmen who held hostage 75 people in Agusan del Sur for three days will be charged today with 75 counts of kidnapping and serious illegal detention as well as illegal possession of firearms before the Agusan del Sur Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.

Those who will face charges are Joebert “Ondo” Brital Perez, Rando Brital Perez alias Tata, Carlos Brital Perez alias Balot/Lot/Balotan, Danilo Brital Perez alias Dondon, Ian Sabas Perez, Randy Sabas Perez alias Andy, Kim Sabas Perez alias Kimkim, Wilson Perez alias Wilson, Nick Brital, Eric Espanya Brital alias Ric, Zaldy Perez Bagiuos, Junrey Angchangco Sanchez alias Islaw, Simo Montilla, Rejoy Montilla, and James Perez alias Bajim.

Senior Superintendent Nestor Monton Fajura, Caraga Region police chief of operations, said the 15 suspects are “under custody” in the official residence of Butuan Bishop Juan de Dios Pueblos in Barangay Ampayon.

Police and Agusan del Sur officials brought them to Pueblos after they released the remaining 42 hostages Sunday, he added.
