Tropical Depression Tino is likely to make landfall in Aurora province as the cyclone continued to close in on Central Luzon Tuesday, state weather forecasters said.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Tino may hit Casiguran town as early as Tuesday afternoon.
“Kung magpapatuloy ang kanyang kilos sa bilis na 11 kph, inaasahang ngayong hapon magla-landfall sa Casiguran, Aurora (If it maintains its present movement at 11 kph, it may make landfall over Casiguran, Aurora Tuesday afternoon),” Pagasa forecaster Benjie de Paz said in an interview on dzBB radio.
De Paz said Tino had changed course, from a north-northwest path to south-southwest Monday.
In its 5 a.m. advisory, Pagasa said Tino was 150 km east-northeast of Casiguran, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center.
