MANILA, Philippines—The couple have scaled things down by scrapping earlier plans to hold a reception for up to 10,000 guests at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Still, Tuesday’s wedding of Sen. Manuel “Mar” Roxas II and TV journalist Korina Sanchez—a celebrity nuptial expected to draw the Who’s Who of Philippine society—seems to have the trappings and protocols usually observed in state occasions.
Organizers, for example, deemed it necessary to issue a set of “guidelines” for media organizations covering the exchange of vows between the Liberal Party vice presidential candidate and the ABS-CBN star anchor.
Due to limited space, only accredited media groups have been invited to the 3 p.m. rites at Sto. Domingo Church in Quezon City, according to Roxas’ chief of staff, Blas James Viterbo.
