‘Cops’ rob Pasig warehouse of P1.2 million

MANILA, Philippines – After a three-month lull, armed men in police uniform struck at a Pasig City warehouse yesterday, disarming and hogtying eight security guards and taking P1.2 million before fleeing.

Metro police chief Director Roberto Rosales ordered an investigation into the incident to determine why the suspects managed to pull off the robbery despite his directive that police cars should always be present during police operations in Metro Manila.

“We wanted to know if the security guards were notified of our business bulletin calling for establishment owners not to entertain policemen unaccompanied by mobile cars during operations, or whether they are in cahoots with the robbers,” said Rosale.
