Ruby Rose Slay Case: DOJ files raps vs 2 in-laws, clears husband

MANILA, Philippines – After a preliminary investigation that lasted 10 weeks, the Department of Justice (DOJ) filed murder charges yesterday before a Navotas regional trial court against a fishing magnate and his brother for the killing of Ruby Rose Barrameda-Jimenez, sister of former actress Rochelle Barrameda.

Among those indicted are Ruby Rose’s father-in-law, lawyer Manuel Jimenez Jr.; his brother, Lope Jimenez, owner of the Buena Suerte Jimenez Fishing and Trading Co. (BSJ); Manuel Montero, who confessed to participating in the killing and testified for the Barrameda family; and Eric Fernandez, Spyke Discalzo and Roberto Ponce.
