JRU hotshot finds himself a marked man

MANILA, Philippines — From now on, Joshua Saret should expect to face tight defense every time he and the rest of the Jose Rizal University Light Bombers play an opposing team in the NCAA.

This was evident in Monday’s match between JRU and San Sebastian College- Recoletos. Saret faced more than one defender each time he touched the ball; the Staglets looked like they had a gameplan focused entirely on limiting the JRU hotshot.

His teammate Louie Vigil, instead, took up the scoring cudgels and topscored with 26 points for a 93-87 victory in favor of JRU.

Despite the airtight defense, Saret scored 21 points, still impressive but “meager” compared to his 89-point explosion in JRU’s 171-43 massacre of Angeles University Foundation.
