No hostage-taking during attack: NPA

NEW People’s Army (NPA) rebels denied Tuesday reports that they took hostage four civilians whom they allegedly used as human shields to prevent government troops from firing at them.

The rebels described such military claim as “a blatant lie… a black propaganda.”

The hostage-taking allegedly took place after the communist rebels attacked on Sunday afternoon a detachment of Army and Citizen Armed Forces Geographical Unit (Cafgu) in Barangay Napungas in Asuncion, Davao del Norte.
