Maguindanao, Cotabato floods affect 9K families

Floods that hit parts of Cotabato and Maguindanao in southern Philippines since last weekend have affected at least 9,280 families, the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) said Monday.

In its update as of 6 a.m. Monday, the NDCC said the 9,280 families were from 43 villages in Maguindanao and North Cotabato.

“[A] portion of [the] National Highway in Sultan Kudarat (town in Maguindanao) is still flooded and not passable to light vehicles. Some commuters were being ferried by military trucks to pass through the flooded portion of the highway,” the NDCC said.
