Garment makers plan comeback with $480 M in new investments

An estimated 60 garment manufacturers are eager to stage a comeback and expand operations in the country with initial investments estimated at $480 million and additional exports of $1.1 billion following the filing of a bill before the U.S. Congress seeking to grant duty-free privilege to Philippine-made apparel into the US market.

This was revealed by major garment manufacturers, who are also members of the Confederation of Garment Exporters of the Philippines (CONGEP) and Garment Business Association of the Philippines (GBAP), during a press conference.
