‘Emong’ nears Pangasinan

Almost the whole of Luzon experienced stormy weather Thursday as typhoon “Emong” (international name: Chan – Hom) moved towards Northern and Central Luzon, packing strong winds of 140 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 170 kph.

The weather bureau raised public storm warning signal No. 3 over western Pangasinan, La Union and Ilocos Sur at 11 a.m. Thursday as “Emong” inched closer to the country’s northern regions.
