Veteran Visual Artist Mario Parial was deprived of studying painting back in college because his mother thought the course would render him penniless. He was also just borrowing a friend’s old-school Petri rangefinder back in high school because he can’t afford to buy one. But then, it seemed that the universe conspired to let Parial have it his way, rather, the artist found a way to make things happen for him. He got what he hoped and wished for—and more.
Later, Parial would gain himself a spot in the coveted halls of the Philippine art scene for his naïf and multicolored opuses depicting Filipino folk and he would see himself teaching fine arts to young and creative minds. Now, his inspired journey continues as he embarks on photography where the artist has realized that the little he knows; the more there is still to learn and to understand.
