Clark Electric sees rise in power demand

MANILA, Philippines — Clark Electric Distribution Corp., 65-percent owned by power retailer Manila Electric Co. and operating in the Clark Special Economic Zone north of Manila, is allotting P200 million this year to beef up its system and prepare for future demand increases in its franchise area, a company official said.

It expects electricity demand in Clark to grow over the next several years, particularly when the “Next Frontier” project of Clark Development Corp. (CDC), the government overseer of Clark, materializes, Clark Electric chief operating officer Radito Tuazon said in an interview. [Read Full Story]
