Inflation seen to hit 5.9%-6.8% in March

MANILA, Philippines – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) expects inflation in March to fall within the 5.9 percent to 6.8 percent range due to declining global crude prices.

“The decline in crude oil prices during the month and the downward adjustments in transport fares and electricity rates may have offset the upward price pressures due to a weaker peso,” BSP Governor Amando M. Tetangco Jr. told reporters in a text message yesterday.
