Earth Hour: Manila prelate laments wastage of resources

MANILA, Philippines – On the eve of Earth Hour, Manila Archbishop Gaudencio
Cardinal Rosales lamented humanity’s irresponsible use of God-given natural resources.

Rosales, in a statement for the event, reminded the faithful that the earth is the only “temporary” home they have, and that they are merely “guests” on this planet.

“Alarming signs are seen today in the balding forests, eroded mountains, plastic waste-clogged polluted rivers and bodies of water, dying sea mammals and the general warming of the planet — all these tell us that the earth and its resources have not been used responsibly,” he said in his statement, which was posted on the Manila Archdiocese website.
