The possible nomination of the Philippines’ late “King of Rap” Francis “Kiko” Magalona as a National Artist will have to wait.
Cecile Guidote Alvarez, executive director of the National Commission on Culture and Arts, said the nomination for the next set of National Artist awardees is already closed.
“Nominations for National Artist is done every three years. So for this year, the nominations are already in. In fact the voting will already start this early from April,” Alvarez told ABS-CBN’s morning show “Umagang Kay Ganda.”
