10 remaining soldiers in Ninoy killing freed; sentence served

THE 10 remaining soldiers convicted in the double murder of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. and his alleged gunman Rolando Galman in 1983 were released yesterday from the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa city.

Public Attorney’s Office chief Persida Rueda Acosta confirmed that Rogelio Moreno, Ruben Aquino, Arnulfo Artates, Romeo Bautista, Jesus Castro, Arnulfo de Mesa, Rodolfo Desolong, Claro Lat, Ernesto Mateo and Filomeno Miranda officially became free men at 3:40 p.m.
