Young artists and the school on top of the hill

The melodic sound from different musical instruments and some harmonic voices provide a backdrop to the lush slopes of Mt. Makiling. The tall trees, the mountain canopies make traveling on the paved road that leads to this heavenly place enjoyable. Welcome to the Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA).

First time visitors may mistake this place as a retreat house. Can’t blame them — there are no rowdy kids or monotonic class recitations around here!

Hailed as the country’s premiere arts high school, PHSA has been nurturing young Filipino artists for more than 30 years now. The school, which is under the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), was specifically built to discover and train the exceptional talents of young Filipinos in different art disciplines.
