Parents, students welcome random drug testing

PARENTS and students yesterday greeted with approval the start of random drug testing of students in 15 selected secondary schools in Metro Manila.

They said it would identify users and prevent drug abuse.

A total of 85,000 students nationwide will be subjected to the tests under the program that is targeted for completion in November.

Each testing team is composed of two nurses from the education department who are in charge of taking urine samples, an analyst from the health department, an encoder and another staff member from the education department.
