When chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Jesus A. Verzosa began his tour of duty in 2008, he stressed the importance of continuous education of officers and recruits. Priority areas are the training of incoming officers and recruits.
“Initial training should be correct since this will determine the policeman’s behavior throughout his career,” stresses Versoza.
One of the most noticeable improvements inside Camp Crame these days is the establishment of the PNP Training Service Compound. The bulk of officers come from the Philippine National Police Academy and through mandatory training education at the Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC).
