Microsoft targets small software firms

Microsoft Philippines launched Thursday the BizSpark program in partnership with the Commission on Information and Communications Technology (CICT).

Introduced around October last year, BizSpark is a global initiative by Microsoft aimed at small firms operating less than three years and with less than a million dollars in revenues.

Microsoft said the CICT will lead the verification of applications for the three-year program with the help of industry groups National ICT Conference of the Philippines, Philippine Software Industry Association and Business Process Association of the Philippines.

Microsoft is targeting 80 firms for the first year and a total of 300 companies in three years, said Jay Joson, Microsoft Philippines developer platform evangelism director.
