It’s all for the kids!

“Just seeing them smile makes me happy,” says Dexter Terrence Uy, a Computer Studies student of De La Salle University and a student volunteer of the Center for Social Concern and Action (COSCA), of his experience in the 2009 For-the-Kids (FTK) held recently at DLSU.

Dexter is one of more than 900 participants that included students, faculty, administrators, and employees from DLSU, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, and De La Salle Araneta University who served as ates and kuyas to more than 500 children with special needs.

FTK opened its doors to physically and mentally challenged children in 1996 to help encourage them achieve self-worth through competitive and friendly sports and interactive games. It also seeks to provide an enjoyable form of social outreach for DLSU students, alumni, faculty and staff.
