Good and bad news for agriculture

The good news is that agricultural commodities should perform strongly in 2009 with prices rebounding from the sharp losses of the last few months as demand proves resilient despite the economic downturn as per Commerzbank report published by Reuters.

The bad news however is that prices of basic food commodities like rice is also projected to go up which will greatly impact on rice importing countries like the Philippines;  while demand for corn will remain robust and price per bushel expected to go up greatly affecting our feed millers and livestock industry.
