BJMP orders tighter jail security

MANILA, Philippines—The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) has ordered tighter security for humanitarian workers visiting detention centers following the abduction of three Red Cross workers in Sulu.

In a statement Wednesday, BJMP director Rosendo Dial said he has instructed all jail wardens in Mindanao to coordinate closely with authorities in providing security for aid workers visiting jails.
