Pacquiao-Hatton purse split settled

Manny Pacquiao’s megafight with Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton will push through as set on May 2 after the two fighters agreed on the original 50-50 split of the prize money.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday (Thursday in Manila) that Pacquiao’s advisers, especially Rex “Wakee” Salud, were able to convince the Filipino fighter to push on with the fight.

The bout will be held at 140 lbs, the fourth consecutive time that Pacquiao will fight in a different division. At that weight, Hatton is undefeated.
