LTFRB: Enough supply of LPG for cabs

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said there is no shortage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) used by taxis in Metro Manila.

In a press briefing Thursday, LTFRB chair Thompson Lantion said he received an assurance from auto-LPG dealers that they have enough buffer stocks to last until February.

“By March, we expect supply of auto LPG from Malaysia to come in as well as other dealers of auto-LPG based on how prices of LPG will move in the world market,” said Lantion in Filipino.

Lantion met with auto LPG dealers upon the request of the Philippine National Taxi Operators Association (PNTOA) over reports of hoarding of auto-LPG as prices of LPG have fallen sharply compared with gasoline prices.
