5 DOJ Officials Take Leave

Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez Monday placed two ranking department officials and three prosecutors on indefinite leave to comply with President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s order that those involved in the “Alabang Boys” controversy go on leave.

Justice Undersecretary Ricardo Blancaflor, Chief Prosecutor Jovencito Zuño, Senior State Prosecutor Phillip Kimpo, State Prosecutor Misael Ladaga and Investigating Prosecutor John Resado were considered on indefinite leave starting Monday.

Gonzalez said Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Severino Gana would take on Zuño’s tasks while the pending cases of the prosecutors on leave would be raffled off to other prosecutors in the department.
