IBM predicts five big innovations in next five years

IBM, an industry pioneer which has been around for more than a century and has seen various technology trends come and go, has issued for the third straight year its set of technology predictions that may radically change the world.

Dubbed “IBM Next Five in Five,” the list of innovations have the potential to change the way people work, live, and play over the next five years, the US-based tech giant said.

The predictions, the company said, is based on market and societal trends expected to transform the lives of people, as well as emerging technologies from IBM’s Labs around the world that can make the innovations possible.

“These technologies are in different stages of development right now, and the work done in IBM labs all over the world contributes to making these trends into reality,” said Lope Doromal, chief technologist at IBM Philippines, said in a statement.
