Dimasalang artists exhibit in Manila

A collective art exhibition by the Dimasalang III International Artist Group from Canada will open today at 6 p.m. at the Crucible Gallery at the SM Megamall Art Center Level 4, Bldg. A in Mandaluyong City. Canadian Ambassador Robert Desjardins will cut the ceremonial ribbon.

A dozen Dimasalang artists will exhibit their paintings, 11 are visiting Manila from Vancouver,Canada. Dimasalang was the pseudonym of Jose Rizal. Sofronio Ylanan Mendoza or SYM, co-founder of Dimasalang will show his works. Romulo Galicano, one of the two founding members will also participate as a special guest. One of the highlights of the group exhibition is SYM and Galicano‚Äôs collaboration of a Mother and Child interactive 40″ x 30″ oil painting. Lantin, known for his portraits, will showcase genre paintings of Philippine scenery and urban life.
