LEADING food chain-operator Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) is committing P1.2 million to help send the children of informal sector workers to school, Labor Secretary Marianito Roque said Thursday.
Roque said the program aims to send children, unable to go to school due to lack of funds, to school and take secondary or technical and vocational courses.
The youth education-youth employability or Ye-Ye project targets about 100,000 children, he said.
He said each child will receive P12,000 for tuition fee and an additional amount will cover their transportation allowance. The project will be completed in 2010.
