MANILA, Philippines - Philippine ambassador to Africa Ma. Rosario Lopez Janolo died due to a lingering illness over the weekend, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced.
In a statement posted on its Web site Sunday, the DFA disclosed “with deep regret” that Janolo died Friday morning “due to lingering illness.”
“Ms. Janolo was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Philippines to Kenya with concurrent jurisdiction to Burundi, Comoros, Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania and Uganda,” it said.
