Metrobank to open more branches and ATM sites

Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company (Metrobank), the country’s largest lender, has announced that it will be expanding its network of branches and automated teller machines (ATM).

In a statement, Metrobank said that it will have a total of 552 domestic branches and 800 ATMs by the end of 2008, the bank’s most recent expansion program within the last two years.

According to executive vice president and national branch banking sector head Fabian Dee, Metrobank remains optimistic about deposit growth in spite of the global financial crisis.

“Our branch network continues to demonstrate renewed energy and competitiveness, delivering exemplary performance in generating low-cost deposits, consumer loans, and cross-sales of Metrobank subsidiary products,” Dee said.
